Shadow Bug’s Spring Activities vol 1 & 2
So what have we been up to this spring?
Shadow Bug has been present to couple of splendid events during May.
Vol 1 – Games First – Pig time
We got invited to a game developer event organized by Supercell and pitch Shadow Bug there! The whole event was a blast! Well what can you expect when Supercell made it happen. The food was smashing, drinks were colourful and the people were game developers. What more can you ask for? The pitching event itself was nerve breaking but super exciting at the same time. Shadow Bug was trying to calm the pitcher down at the backstage minutes before the pitching started. And then it just happened.
All that shaky adrenaline that I collected at the backstage was changed into epic pitch action. Too bad all the listeners were immersed to the pitch so well that no one took a picture of that moment. Well what can you do. After the pitch I have to say I felt like I was being crushed by a huge wave of somethingness. Whatever it was, it was awesome. When I had finally calmed down from the test of manhood the space was filled with laughter, game talk and feasting on that big pig that suddenly spawned from nowhere to the middle of the hall. Dat pig with dat mango-chutney sauce was like no other.
Thank you Supercell for organizing such a marvelous game event!
Vol 2 – Nordic Games Conference – Malmö
Couple weeks after that Shadow Bug was on the road again.
We took Shadow Bug to Nordic Games Conference that happened at Malmö, Sweden. The event lasted for three days. Three days of socialising with awesome people and in the evening socialising with cool people. Wait what. Exactly. Our main objective was to have a chat with as many publishers we could find at the event. We found couple of interested people on Shadow Bug and at the moment Shadow Bug is pondering should we go forward all alone or with a partner.
One random encounter was when a wild Chris Avellone, from Obsidian, spawned next to Shadow Bug. Chris tried the game and was like: “Cool game bro.” Shadow Bug accepts.
Anyways if you ever end up visiting Malmö there are two places you must go to. First one is a burger place called Surf Shack… I mean seriously. Never had that good hamburgers in my entire life before. Majestic. Smooth. And so low carb.
Second place is a restaurant called Brygghuset, a beer brewery at the chocolate factory, in swedish. Those smoked almonds and imperial stouts were like no other. You could taste the goodness of all the joy around you.
At the very moment Shadow Bug and Muro Studios are at an accelerator program called Summer of Startups. It’s all good. Summer is here. No sun thou. Just development. And marketing. Maybe some barbeque. Yes master. Yes Shadow Bug.
